Shanelle is a health educator, holistic chef, health and wellness coach, researcher, herbalist, yogi and artist.
Her lifelong interest in health and wellness is heavily influenced by her West Indian heritage but also due to the many different health conditions she personally faced over the years. Her desire to be well and happy led her to gain a wealth of knowledge in various healing modalities which brings her joy to share with others.
Shanelle was first taught herbal medicine, holistic cooking and healing from the women of her family. She was homeschooled from 1st grade until she went on to study at the University of Central Florida, where she received her degree in Integrative Studies. In her studies, her concentrations were biomedical, health and behavioral sciences and minoring in mass communication/leadership studies.
Her personal challenges with chronic illness during her academic years led her to research out of the lab and back to her herbal roots working with plant medicine. Alongside her academic achievements, Shanelle continued her education in alternative health and wellness with the goal of becoming a holistic health provider.
After graduation, Shanelle worked as a private educator and behavioral coach for homeschooled children, K-12 and college students with diagnosed behavioral and neurological issues. `
After 11 years of working in educational spaces with various types of students, Shanelle realized how many of her students were in vital need for connection. Many were facing challenges trying to manage chronic issues (health, emotional, mental, etc.) all while keeping up with their studies/responsibilities/job and finding it nearly impossible due to loss of direction. There will always be difficulty maintaining momentum when there is disconnection. One of the best ways to support people dealing with chronic issues, is to help reestablished their connection to their innate ability to learn, find relief and gather positive life skills for healthier, happier lives.
Her desire to further the success and wellness of her students led her to start Cherish Wise. A resource for those seeking relief through self-empowerment and education.
Mission Statement
The challenges I've faced in my life have taught me to embrace life as a journey of self discovery and mastery. If we stay open, our life experiences can gift us special skills and abilities. Every challenge is an opportunity to adapt and learn how to unlock another special part of ourselves.
With every storm I've weathered, I've learned how to find balance, root and bloom once again.
I believe in the importance of cherishing our individuality, learning to care for our specific needs in ways that are accessible and align with our desired lifestyle. We all have unique bodies and live our own unique lives. It is for this reason that health and wellness can never be "one size fits all".
I created Cherish Wise to serve as a resource for people, like myself, who required creativity, community and support in order to access the relief I wasn't able to find with conventional care models. I encourage my clients to look at their challenges from a bird's eye view. By utilizing the power of imagination, I teach how to unlock the potential of our experiences. How to connect with who we desire to become in this life and how it aligns with our body, community and nature.
It brings me joy to be able to share my passion. To share what helps me to thrive despite the challenges life brings my way.
Cherish Wise is here to support your journey to good health, peace of mind and happiness.
I hope you stay tuned to our journey and I hope we can aid in yours.
Peace & Love.
